Requesting a Transfer Code via Mijn Xynta
Planning to transfer your domain name to another provider? You'll usually need a transfer code (also called **EPP code or authcode). Below you'll find how to look it up easily through My xYnta.**
Step-by-step guide
- Go to My xYnta and log in with your email address and password.
- Click DOMAIN NAME at the top of the page.
- Under Domain names, click the domain name whose transfer code you want to request.
- Click the MANAGE button.
- Click Request transfer code.
- Close the Manage window via the cross in the top right.
- Under Details, you'll find an input field with an eye icon next to Transfer code.
- Click the eye icon to reveal the requested transfer code.
Transfer codes for .be and .eu
For certain extensions — including .be and .eu — the transfer code is not shown directly in My xYnta. Instead, the code is automatically sent by email to the domain holder as soon as you request it.
.be and .eu domains on your behalf — only the domain holder receives the code by email. Please make sure the holder's contact details are up to date before requesting the code. Before you transfer
In addition to the transfer code, there are a few things to check for a smooth domain transfer:
- Is your domain name locked? Many domain names are locked by default with a transfer lock (also known as registrar lock). Disable this before you transfer — see Locking or unlocking a domain name.
- Are your holder details current? Check that the domain holder's email address is still correct — some extensions require email confirmation of the transfer.
- Moving to xYnta? Request the transfer code from your current provider and use our free migration service — we'll handle the migration of your website, database, email and domain name for you.
