# Adding Your Email Address to Microsoft Outlook 2016

### Step-by-Step Guide

1. Click **File** in the top left menu.
2. Click **Add Account**.

3. Enter your email address and click **Connect**.

4. Enter your email password and click **Connect**.

5. A security warning will appear, click **Yes**.

6. Click **OK**.

7. Again, click **File** in the top left menu.
8. Click **Account Settings** and then **Account Settings...**.

9. Select the newly added email address.
10. Click **Change...**.

11. In the **Outgoing mail server (SMTP)** field, enter: `mail.voorbeelddirectadmin.nl`.
12. Click **Next >**.

13. Click **Close** after the account settings test completes.

14. Click **Finish**.

15. Finally, click **Close**.

Your email address has now been successfully added and is ready to send and receive emails.

||| ℹ️ **Important:** In this guide, replace `voorbeelddirectadmin.nl` with your own domain name.
