# Installing and configuring W3 Total Cache

### Installing and configuring W3 Total Cache

If LiteSpeed WebServer is not available and your server uses Apache or Nginx, we recommend using the W3 Total Cache plugin.

Our Web, Reseller, and WordPress Hosting packages are equipped with LiteSpeed WebServer by default (see: [Installing LiteSpeed Cache](/en/article/installing-litespeed-cache-on-your-wordpress-website-txqx7o/)).

Follow the steps below to install and configure W3 Total Cache:

1. Log in to `https://voorbeeld.cc/wp-admin` or `https://voorbeeld.cc/wp-login.php`, enter your username and password, and click **Login**.
2. In the left menu, click **Plugins**.
3. Click on **Add New Plugin**.
4. Search for **W3 Total Cache** in the top right search bar.
5. Click **Install Now**.
6. Then click **Activate**.
7. In the left menu, click **Performance**.
8. Click **Accept**.
9. Scroll down and click **NEXT**.

#### Setting caching options:

* Click **Test page cache**.
* Choose **Disk: Enhanced**, unless another method is faster.
* Click **NEXT**.

* Click **Test database cache**.
* Choose **None**, as database caching often slows websites down.
* Click **NEXT**.

* Click **Test object cache**.
* Choose **Redis** (see also: [Enabling Redis Caching](/en/article/enabling-redis-caching-cf5t8w/)). If Redis is not available, select **Disk**.
* Click **NEXT**.

* Click **Test browser cache**.
* Choose **Enabled**.
* Click **NEXT**.

* Check **Enable WebP Converter**.
* 📌 **Important:** Converting images to WebP may slightly reduce quality, although it is usually unnoticeable.
* Click **NEXT**.

* Click **NEXT** again.

* Finally, click **DASHBOARD**.
