# Installing WordPress

**WordPress is the most widely used CMS in the world and easy to install on your hosting plan. Below you'll find how to install WordPress in a few steps through Installatron in DirectAdmin.**

### Installing WordPress

1. Log in to DirectAdmin — via [Single Sign-On](https://help.xynta.com/en/article/logging-in-to-hosting-package-via-single-sign-on-sso-1biycbb/) or directly at `https://yourdomain.com:2222`.
2. Under **Recommended Applications**, click **WordPress**.
3. Click **+ Install this Application**.
4. Fill in the form as follows:

* **Domain** — choose the domain on which you want to install WordPress.
* **Path** — optional. Leave empty to install WordPress directly on your main domain, or enter a folder (for example `blog`) to place WordPress on a subpath.
* **Version settings** — leave all fields (Version, Language, EULA, Automatic Updates) at their default values.
* **Administrator username** — enter a username. Avoid common names like `admin`.
* **Administrator password** — enter a strong password, or use the built-in password generator.
* **Admin email** — your email address (default: the linked email address).
* **Website title** — the name of your website.
* **Website tagline** — the tagline or description of your website.

5. Click **+ Install** to start the installation.

The installation completes within a few minutes and WordPress is ready to use.

||| **Never** use `admin` as your username and choose a strong, unique password. Simple combinations like `admin` / `password123` are the first things attackers try in a brute-force attack.

| Automatic updates for your WordPress installation are enabled by default via Installatron. This means minor updates of WordPress and your plugins are applied automatically — which keeps your website secure.

### After installation

Once your domain name is active, you can start building your website right away:

* **Logging in to your WordPress dashboard** — go to `https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin` and log in with the username and password you just chose.
* **Logging in via Installatron** — click the `/wp-admin` link next to your installation in Installatron to log in directly via Single Sign-On without entering your password.
