What does “This domain name is (temporarily) suspended” mean and how can I resolve it?

If you see the message that your domain name is (temporarily) suspended, it can have several causes:

Possible causes

  • Outstanding payment

➔ Your website has been suspended due to an unpaid invoice.

🔹 Solution: Settle all outstanding invoices. Once your payment is received, your website will automatically be reactivated.

  • Technical issue

➔ For example, your website may have been hacked, is sending spam, or distributing malware/viruses.

🔹 Solution: Contact us. We will assist you in cleaning up your website so it can be made accessible again.

  • Abuse report

➔ We have received a report of misuse involving your website (e.g., spam, phishing, illegal content).

🔹 Solution:

    • You will receive an email from us and have 24 to 48 hours to respond.
    • If you do not respond in time, we are forced to temporarily suspend your website.
    • In exceptional cases, such as serious violations of Dutch law or a court order, we may immediately suspend the site and contact you afterward.
