Would you like to restore a folder, file, or database from a previously created backup? Follow the step-by-step guide below.


Step-by-Step Guide



Go to Mijn Xynta and log in with your email address and password.
Click Managed VPS at the top of the page.
In the submenu, click the fourth option from the left: Back-up.
In the overview, click on the Managed VPS package from which you want to restore a backup.
Select the type of restore point:

Files (Folders or Files)
Database

Locate the desired restore point.
Click the orange Restore button.
Choose the type of data you want to restore:

Restore folders or files
Restore a database


Restoring Folders or Files



- In the first field, enter: Which folder or file would you like to restore?
- In the second field, enter: Where would you like to restore it to?

📌 Example:

If you want to restore all files in the domains folder of the user jansen:

Field 1: /home/jansen/domains
Field 2: /home/jansen

Important:

If you enter /home/jansen/domains in the second field, the backup will be restored to /home/jansen/domains/domains.
Always double-check the correct restore location carefully.

After filling in the fields, click the orange Restore button.




Restoring a Database



In the first field, select: Which database would you like to restore?
In the second field, enter: Into which database would you like to restore it?

Important:

The target database must already exist on your server.

The restore task will not create a new database.
If the selected database already contains data, it is recommended to clear it first to avoid conflicts.

After filling in the fields, click the orange Restore button.




After Starting the Restore Task



The backup will be automatically restored within a few minutes.
You can track the progress under Task Queue.
Once completed, you will find the restored folder(s), files, or database at the specified location.
