Explaining My Messages in DirectAdmin
Once you log into the DirectAdmin control panel, you’ll find a Messages link at the top right of every page.
What is the Messages System?
Where can I find the Messages system?
The Messages system is a vital feature of DirectAdmin. It’s included by default with our Web, Email, and Reseller Hosting packages, as well as our Managed VPS packages.
It gathers notifications about actions and events within your hosting package, allowing you to review them easily.
🔔 Examples of notifications you might receive:
Exceeding allocated disk space or bandwidth limits.
Reaching the daily email sending limit per account or email address.
Completion of daily or manually triggered backup actions.
Detection of bruteforce attacks.
Completion of automatic or manually started updates and installations.
In short: the Messages system contains essential notifications important for managing your Hosting or Managed VPS package.
New messages are clearly indicated with a notification balloon at the top right, showing the number of unread messages.
Follow these steps to access the messages page in DirectAdmin:
Log in:
Hosting customer: via https://voorbeeld.cc:2222.
Managed VPS customer: via https://mvm-klantnaam1.srvnl.nl:2222.
Click on the username at the top right of the page.
Click on Messages.
📬 You’ll now see the message overview. Unread messages will appear bolded.
🔄 Replace voorbeeld.cc with your own domain name, and mvm-klantnaam1.srvnl.nl with your Managed VPS hostname in the instructions.
