Cancel a Service – Mijn Xynta

Want to cancel a service at xYnta? You can arrange it yourself in a few steps through My xYnta. Below you'll find how it works, what the consequences of cancellation are, and what to keep in mind.

This article applies to all services you can manage yourself through My xYnta — such as hosting plans, email plans, domain names and Managed VPS plans.

Before you cancel

Before cancelling, please take a moment to check the points below — this prevents data loss and surprises afterwards.

  • First create a backup of your website, database and email. After cancellation we cannot restore any data. See Creating your own backup.
  • Moving to another provider? Make sure your new environment is fully working and your domain points correctly before cancelling here.
  • Recently ordered (within 30 days) and not satisfied? Take a look at our money-back guarantee — this may be more favourable than a direct cancellation.

Cancellation steps

  1. Go to My xYnta and log in with your email address and password.
  2. Click MY ACCOUNT at the top of the page.
  3. Then click SERVICES at the top.
  4. Click the red trash icon button next to the service you want to cancel.
  5. Under Cancel on, choose either Immediately or End of contract.
  6. Click the red Cancel button.

After submitting your cancellation, you'll receive a confirmation email within 30 minutes. Keep this email safe — it is your official cancellation proof.

Not receiving the confirmation email? Check your spam or junk folder, or get in touch.

Cancel immediately or at end of contract?

You have two cancellation options:

  • Cancel immediately — your service is terminated right away. You will not receive a refund for the remaining contract period. Only choose this option if you really no longer need the service.
  • Cancel at end of contract — your service remains active until the end of the current contract period. No additional charges apply and you can keep using the service normally until then. In most cases this is the sensible choice.

With immediate cancellation no refund is possible for the remaining period. Only choose this if you're sure you no longer need the service — even for the remaining time. In doubt? Choose End of contract — this way you keep access until the end date without extra charges.

Consequences per service type

Cancellation has different consequences depending on the service. Please check the expected impact before you cancel:

Hosting plan (Web Hosting, WordPress Hosting, Email Hosting, Reseller Hosting)

  • Your website files, database and email content will be removed after cancellation.
  • Mailboxes linked to this plan will stop working — new email will not be delivered and existing email is no longer accessible.
  • Your domain name remains active if registered separately with us or elsewhere. If the domain is part of the plan, a separate cancellation applies to the domain.

Download all your email, website files and databases before cancelling. After immediate cancellation or at the end of the contract period, this data is no longer available and we cannot restore it.

Domain name

  • The domain name will be released back to the registry — others can then register the domain name.
  • Your website and email on this domain will stop working once the registration expires.
  • Want to transfer the domain to another provider? Do not cancel — instead start a transfer with your new provider. Request the transfer code (EPP code or authcode) in advance and make sure your domain isn't locked.

Managed VPS

  • Your server and all data will be removed after cancellation.
  • All websites, databases, email and accounts on the VPS will no longer be accessible.
  • Download your data before cancellation or migrate it to another plan.
